South Carolina Recruiting 2012: Gamecocks Nab a Punter

Just when you thought the coaching staff for the South Carolina Gamecocks football team was done recruiting for the Class of 2012, they go out and nab a punter named Worth Gregory as a "preferred walk-on."Fort Mill (S.C.) punter Worth Gregory was on campus this past weekend and decided to join the Gamecocks football team as a preferred walk-on. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder will report this summer with the rest of the signing class.  No scholly but will be given every chance to get one next season.

Gamecocks Basketball: Video Review of Last 3 Games

The South Carolina men's hoops program is having a very tough year and here is some video highlights of the last three games.We have been out-of-pocket in our coverage of the hoop's squad mainly due to National Signing Day but also it seems that it is the same thing each outing.  Hard to write about the losses each time out.Let's hope the recent loss to Kentucky was the bottom of this travel down to the valley after reaching somewhat of the mountain top in winning the SEC East a few years back.

Gamecocks Football: Dalton Wilson Not Returning

The South Carolina Gamecocks will be without junior Dalton Wilson for the 2012 season as he has opted to leave the team after completing his degree.Wilson, a walk-on who started seven games at fullback last season, will not return to the team next year, a school spokesperson said.

The South Carolina Lady Gamecocks defeated the Tennessee Volunteers by the score of 64-60.We generally do not cover much women's hoops here but the win is wonderful for the ladies and Coach Staley.  Congrats to the team and here is the highlights of the game:

Gamecocks 2012 Signing Day: Offense Analysis

The South Carolina Gamecocks closed out with a solid recruiting class for 2012 that fulfilled many of their needs and added key depth in places for the immediate future. The Gamecocks class was rated the nation's 11th-best by CBSSports.com, behind only Alabama and Florida in the SEC. Scout.com rated the class No. 12 (behind Alabama, Florida and LSU in the league). ESPN put the Gamecocks at No. 16. Rivals.com had the lowest opinion of the class, slotting it No. 19 in the country.

Gamecocks Football: Grady Brown Hired as Secondary Coach

University of South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier has added former Southern Miss assistant Grady Brown to his coaching staff, it was announced today. Brown will serve as the Gamecocks' secondary coach and assistant special teams coordinator in 2012.

2012 Signing Day: Defense

South Carolina signed the players it expected to on Wednesday.  Flounder broke down the offensive side.  Here are the players who are projected to play defense for the Gamecocks for the next 3-5 years.
Defensive Line
The defensive line was not an area of emphasis this year.  Last year the Gamecocks signed 8 defensive linemen, so there were fewer players targeted.  Carolina raided Georgia, and here are the three commitments, all from the Peach State.
