South Carolina vs. Florida State in Chick-fil-A Bowl: 5 Gamecocks Who Must Step
The South Carolina Gamecocks will clash with the Florida State Seminoles in the upcoming Chick-fil-a Bowl game on Dec. 31st in the Georgia Dome.
The game will mark USC's first bowl in Atlanta since the 1969 Peach Bowl, and the first meeting with Florida State since Nov. 9, 1991. The two schools met nine times between 1982 and 1991 when the series ended in the wake of USC's and FSU's membership in the SEC and ACC, respectively. The match-up for the 43rd annual Chick-fil-A Bowl will pit a pair conference championship game losers against each other, though both teams will carry respectable 9-4 records into the game. USC is ranked No. 19 in the latest AP poll and in the USA Today/Coaches poll they are ranked No. 20. Florida State is ranked No. 23 in both major national polls.
No matter what the polls indicate or what the stats show, this is going to be a good battle between two teams that desire to acquire their tenth win. Winning to close on the 2010 college football season is a feeling both programs want to acquire but only one will walk away with that sensation.
For South Carolina, this upcoming game against FSU is winnable but it will take a better showing than the effort put forth against the Auburn Tigers in the SEC Championship a few weeks back. To win, the Gamecocks will need five players to step up and they are...Begin Slideshow

Rumor: Gamecocks To Play Nebraska In 2011?
Rumors are saying that South Carolina and Nebraska are scheduled to debut the 2011 season in Atlanta's Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game, according to the College Football Times blog.
The Gamecocks 2011 schedule has been finalized but the school could possibly make changes if they are interested in competition against Bo Pelini's Big Red.
Steve Spurrier's squad is slated to a five-game series with East Carolina beginning on the date of September 3rd, 2011 at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium. Other opponents in 2011 include Navy, The Citadel, and Clemson.
If South Carolina is to play Nebraska, it's best bet would be to drop or reschedule the Citadel or Navy contest and re-schedule the East Carolina game.
A good reason South Carolina would disagree to play Nebraska is that it already plays in the tough SEC, against opponents such as Florida and Alabama.
If the game goes through, it would be a good test for the Cornhuskers, who are moving to the Big Ten Conference in 2011.Read more South Carolina Football news on BleacherReport.com
